Robyn and her husband Bruce owned and operated the ceramic factory known as Robyns Ceramics on Dougherty Road from 1946 to 1954, employing more than 20 people. Robyn was said to have been one of the most copied artists in California. Her figures were copied by many of the Japan companies including Napco, Inarco and Lefton, either directly or indirectly but ALL of them owe their inspiration to Robyn Sikking designs! Following the closing of her ceramics business in 1954, Robyn began designing ceramics for Japanese manufacturers, including Criterion Products Japan and Blume Importing Company.
