This is a listing for a vintage folk art St. The wooden folk art features an old world St. Nicholas figure with his staff. The figure measures approximately 15-1/2" tall by 3-1/2"" wide and 3-1/2" deep.

The old world Santa features a stately rendering of St. Nick complete with his staff and mitre hat. This one of kind item is hand carved. It is artist signed by Irene Ballard. The Folk Art Figures are part of the Wolf Creek legacy and would be a one of a kind addition to any Wolf Creek collection. Wolf Creek Woodworking was a family owned toy factory that manufactured wooden toys and other primitive wooden art objects in the late 1970s through the mid to late 1980s.

The factory was located in Beaman, Iowa. The Woodworking company was noted for employing mostly retired area natives known as the "Elderly Elves". These Grandpas and Grandmas hand built a variety of solid wood, primitive and folk art objects. The "Elderly Elves" worked diligently to provide wood-crafted folk art objects and primitive wooden pieces that could be used and cherished for generations.

Most of the pieces are signed by the artist who crafted and painted each individual piece. We inherited the small amount of remaining inventory. They are of the actual item up for sale and are provided in part to show the quality of the piece.
