Old Antique 1920's Santa Claus Candy Container 12

  
Offered is this great old Santa Claus candy container. He was made in Japan in the 1920's. He has a huge smiling mouth. I think the Japanese took "jolly" seriously when they designed this guy with his toothy smile and protruding belly! His facial painting rivals any German made Santa with finely painted eyes and red expression lines.

His open mouth has individual teeth. His coat is faded red cotton flannel with rabbit fur trim.

Most of his body has cotton stuffing over cardboard and wire. His candy box is red lined cardboard. Looks like a seam repair to the cardboard under his coat.

His legs are cotton and he is a bit wobbly on his base. His rabbit fur beard may be an old replacement, I see remnants of cotton under it and his moustache is cotton. He measures 12 high to his cap's tip. All items I sell are vintage and most are antique.
