Here comes Santa Claus, a Klumpe tagged vintage Christmas doll made in Spain. These dolls were handmade in the 1950s and known for their quality materials and comical appearance. This Santa stands approximately 11 1/2 inches tall and carries an assortment of gifts including a tall net, a wrapped gift, a wristwatch, tent stakes, a bell, and a wool sack or backpack with carry strap. The plastic bell, without its own means to ring... Sounds whenever the metal tent stakes bump into it.

The metal tent stakes themselves do show some areas of corrosion. The wrist watch has some fine scratches. The tall net can be positioned or slid higher or lower as desired. The Santa face is 3-D shaped with the comical Klumpe hand-painted face outlined in furry white hair.

The face may also show a bit of dust or small stains up close. A stitch at beard bottom has detached from the coat. Normally the beard is tacked down to show the left portion of the belt buckle.

There are other notable details such as wool hat and suit, gloves & scarf with all fringe, and even a pretend smoking pipe. There are black shiny soft plastic stitched boots and the same black shiny plastic used for the belt with a metal buckle with some surface rust on the buckle's right side normally hidden under the beard.

The net pole is wrapped in yellow string but running out of wrapped string about an inch from bottom. The most notable wear from storage is the white wool trim having both red staining, plus other stains. These stains seem to have occurred long ago, leaving no trace of smell. Also the wool has in certain spots, such as the cuffs and the coat's white border, and the gloves, show a number of surface holes throughout. These must have occurred to the wool while in storage some years before I owned this Santa. Since purchasing this Klumpe Santa, I have kept the doll safely sealed in a plastic fastened bag. Therefore any source or cause of holes to the surface is no longer present. Another highlight is the original Klumpe tag which remains stitched-on towards the back waist area. It has a hand written number done at its factory.

This Santa Klumpe doll is intended for adult collectors to display. It is not recommended for play as a toy or doll.
