Antique RARE 1800s Edward Peck Printed Cloth Doll and Banner Santa Claus

  
1 The 1st set of pictures is a super rare. 1886 EDWARD PECK SANTA CLAUS CLOTH DOLL - 1ST SANTA DOLL. He is probably the hardest Santa Claus 12 doll to find. This doll was patent December 28, 1886 by Edward S. It has survived over 100 years and loved as shown in PICs with repairs done to it.

Overall, he is in good condition but not perfect with some fabric splitting near his left hand, repairs, and multiple staining. This is expected for an item of this age which is similar as well with the banner. 2 The 2nd set of pictures show an. Antique linen cloth printed with a depiction of an early Santa Claus and scenes of Victorian children like those found in The Night Before Christmas. The print was made in 1867 or'68 and was one of the first Patriotic Santas.

It was designed by Edward Peck and printed by the Oriental Print Works. The company that made the print began in 1865 and went out of business in 1883. The cloth measures 17 1/2" x 25". The Santa is wearing light blue pants and brown coat. He is holding an American flag and toys are in his arms. There are smaller pictures in each corner depicting Victorian children scenes from the story. The cloth is in good condition but not perfect. There are multiple stains that I have shown in the photos and I there are a few tiny small splits in the fabric upper left boot of Santa, middle and left bottom - need to hold to the light to see them.
