Antique Miniature Belsnickle composition Santa Claus German or French

  

Offered is this antique turn of the 19th century Santa Claus belsnickle figure. He is made of a heavy composition and has a glass coated surface.

His coat is pale pink but I see remnants of red in some of the creases so I think he started out red. His is unusual, his beard has black painted details and he carries a sack on his back. He is a small one measuring about 4.25 high. He has some edge chips but overall condition is good as shown in my photos. He could be German but has a French look to me.
