This whimsical and RARE 1961 original Harold Gale Santa Claus is in amazing mechanical working condition. The mechanical feature adds an animated personality to this Santa Claus and is a showstopper in any retail store front. Or next to the Christmas tree at home. This Santa Claus rotates at the waist, turns its head from side to side and raises its arms. The mechanical movements are both quiet and smooth.

The hand-painted friendly face is in great condition with no scrapes or missing paint. The beard has discoloration from age and wear.

The Santa suit is in good exterior vintage condition, with some stained/discolored areas on the red Santa jacket in the front and back and some discoloration on the suit trim. There are no rips or holes on the red suit. The beard and eyebrows are all original.

The boots are in great condition, with no tears and minor staining. The Santa Claus comes with the original belt and the Harold Gale original label is adhered to the belt underside. This Santa Claus stands 30 inches tall (including display stand) and the display stand measures 15 inches long and 9 inches deep. Harold Gale mechanical Santa Claus are an amazing piece of history. This animated Santa Claus was originally a store display for a retail store in Washington D. C and Baltimore, MD, near Interstate 95 (Exit 33) and Route 29.
