1930s Santa Claus Pulp Paper Mache Candy Container Christmas Figural Decoration

  

"SANTA CLAUS" FIGURAL CANDY CONTAINER - circa 1930s or before. Marked "PAT APPL FOR" under one foot. 4.5" x 9" x 6.5. We offer an early sought after Christmas figural made of pulpy "egg carton-like" material.

Nick is carrying his toy sack that originally held assorted candies (candy is not included). NOTE: These pulp paper mache figures are quite fragile and easily damaged. We feel that our example presents better than most and exhibits outstanding eye appeal.

Condition is considered GOOD to FAIR with moderate surface/stain wear. Surface/edge scuffing & chipping (most evident on Santa's sack areas). Claus's upper head area.

No cracks or breaks on legs/feet (where breaks often occur). Colors are still bold & bright. Overall, we feel this is a nice representational example by most standards (see photos). It would make a scarce SANTA CLAUS figural display for the discriminating PAPER MACHE and/or CHRISTMAS MEMORABILIA enthusiast.
