This beautifully detailed bright red and gold Russian Santa Claus is intricately hand carved and hand painted by the artist to enhance details in the face, beard and costume. Notice the detail on his cloak, the bright blue bag over his shoulder, and the sweet expression on his face! See close up pictures below.

This Santa is lacquered so it is easily cleaned and protected. The solid linden wood is dried for almost 2 years before it is carved so it will last a lifetime.

Linden wood was once used to make drafting boards because it is so stable once properly dried. It does not warp, change shape, or crack and this artistic piece will bring enjoyment for a lifetime! Note: These are not molded or mass produced as are some molded resin Santas from China. All our Russian Santas are hand carved from Linden Wood and no two are ever identical! This Grandfather Frost (as he is called in Russia) is made in Sergei Posad, Russia, and measures approximately 9.75 inches tall (to the top of his staff) by 6.5 inches wide.
