Large Stand-up Diecut Santa Claus Trade Card Ayer's Cherry Pectoral Medicine
This oversized diecut card advertises Ayer's Cherry Pectoral, a cough and cold remedy manufactured by Dr. The card features a portrait of St. Nicholas wearing a green suit, smoking a pipe, and holding a bottle of Ayer's Cherry Pectoral.
He is standing in front of his sleigh, which is loaded with cases of cough syrup. "Wishing you a Merry Christmas" is printed on the back of the sleigh.
The story of Christmas and St. Nicholas as well as advertising text are printed on the reverse. The company offered this "statuette" and a set of ten trade cards for 10 cents. Printed on heavy card stock - 7" x 13". It was once mounted in a scrapbook - there are remnants of the round mounting hinges on the reverse.
A cardboard stand was added later. The front of the card is in excellent condition.
